1 quart - $16.00 If you read the ingredients list on a container of grocery-store pancake syrup, you will probably find that it is not maple syrup at all, but corn syrup with artificial color and flavor added. Pure maple syrup comes from the sap of the sugar maple tree. Ours comes from Brenneman's Farm in Salisbury, Pennsylvania. It is 100% natural, and is a great alternative to sugar, as it contains complex carbohydrates and trace minerals. Use it to make our granola (see Recipes), on pancakes and waffles, in muffins, in baked beans, and as a glaze on meats. This is a light, golden, natural sugar made from evaporated sugar cane juice. It is the perfect replacement for refined white sugar; it has not been bleached, and still contains some trace minerals and vitamins. 5 # bag - $8.00 Also from Wholesome Sweeteners, demerara sugar has a higher molasses content than natural cane sugar and can be used in recipes in place of traditional store-bought brown sugar. It makes a delicious crunchy topping on muffins, and is wonderful in hot oatmeal. 1 # bag - $4.70 When grapes are dried into raisins, any pesticides on them just become more concentrated. Grapes, traditionally, are heavily treated with chemicals to prevent pests and mold. It’s nice to know that when you buy our organic raisins you are not only getting great flavor, but you are also eating a chemical-free fruit. 1 # bag - $4.50 Buy 1 get one for $2 Dates can add natural sweetness to any dish without adding extra sugar. Try minced dates in hot oatmeal, muffins, cookies, on salads, and even in cooked rice. Dates have a high natural enzyme content. 1 # bag – $4.00 It is practically impossible to find coconut in the grocery store that does not have loads of sugar added to it. Our large flakes of dried coconut contain no sugar; just pure coconut meat that can be used in granola, desserts, and as a topping. 20 oz. bag - $3.75 These chips will add a burst of cinnamon flavor to your baked goods. Knead into bread dough to make cinnamon chip bread. Add to oatmeal or peanut butter cookies for a new spin on an old treat. Bake into muffins or add to pancake batter. |
